Our 6th Juried Competition is now open for entries. The theme is based on the idea of
the series. Artists are invited to submit a series of 4 works. Creating a series of works
is a critical process in maintaining or building an identity as a professional artist. In
seeking artists to represent, most gallery owners are more receptive to artists with
ten related works rather than an artist with fifty pieces in different mediums, styles,

Below are results of the Expression Competition:

           1st goes to Mary McCullough, a choice
            supported by juror Adelaide Bannerman
            recognizing “its aesthetic simplicity and             performative quality as a study of
            movement.”

             2nd is Paul Rose with Windblown Tree.
              It was supported by juror Charlie Levine
              who said, “The quiet quality to his               photographs juxtapose his epic subject               matter beautifully.”

  3rd is Sheila Grabarsky with a painting called   Augusta Series,#6.This piece was a vote from
  juror Nadia Russ who said, “Her artwork made
  very confident and with great feel for strong
  colours and its nuances, and balanced   composition. She has her own unique way of   abstract expression; her paintings are very   energetic and joyful.”

             Milena Novotny is recognized as
             an Honorable Mention. In support of
             her Nadia explains, "Her photography
             is very harmonical, the way of
             expression is unique: she captures
             an essence of characters and wonderful              scenes that invite you into its world
             of human emotions, feelings, and
             sophisticated beauty.
